Can you cut Ekodeck?
One of the great characteristics of our Classic range of Ekodeck is its workability. As Ekodeck+ Classic is the same colour and consistency all the way through, working the boards is much similar to timber. You can easily cut, rip, plane, route or sand the boards to achieve your desired shape, size and finish.
Does Ekodeck scratch easily?
It is recommended to use surface protection on furniture and objects to avoid scratching or marking your Ekodeck. In the event your Ekodeck is scratched, it can easily be repaired by lightly sanding in the direction of the grain using 40g sandpaper. Ekodeck’s colour is consistent all the way through the board.
Is Ekodeck better than timber?
Due to timber’s porous nature, it has a tendency to absorb surrounding moisture which leads to rot over time. Composite decking has very low water absorption of approx. 0.5% which results in superior protection against rot and decay when compared to timber.
Does Eco deck warp?
Eco deck can easily warp and buckle under some conditions and has a short life span of around 10 years. New Techwood and Trex decking boards are the leading brands on the market in composite decking. They are a much denser board with a thicker profile and are scratch resistant.
Can Ekodeck be glued?
No – we do not recommend gluing Ekodeck.

The answer is yes, albeit with a couple of caveats. You can’t install Ekodeck directly on top of concrete or a solid surface – it will need to be installed on some sort of framework.

Can you pressure wash Eco deck?
This dirt can become embedded in the textured grain of your Ekodeck. In the event this occurs, we recommend soaking the area with hot soapy water to loosen the debris then give the boards a thorough clean with a pressure washer. Ensure you pressure wash the deck in a consistent manner to avoid stripes or swirls.
Is Eco deck cheaper than timber?
Cost. Composite decking typically costs between $120 to $200 per m2 for the materials. In comparison, the most popular hardwood timber options generally cost between $60 to $140 per m2. Rarer, more luxurious timber species may cost more, but in most cases using timber will cost you less than composite decking.
