Which Tube line is closing?
Transport for London (TfL) is closing the Northern Line from Kennington to Moorgate from Saturday, January 15, to mid-May 2022. Commuters in the capital are facing months of mayhem as a major Tube line is set to partly close while extensive works are carried out.

Current services Night Tube is currently running on Friday and Saturday nights on the Victoria and Central lines, and the Jubilee line from Saturday 21 May. The service is affected by strikes. Night Tube services on the Northern and Piccadilly lines will resume later in summer 2022.

The Elizabeth line is now open. It stretches more than 100km from Reading and Heathrow in the west through central tunnels across to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
What was the last tube station to open?
Technically, though, the most recent addition to the network is Heathrow’s Terminal 5 station (T5) which was added to the Picadilly line in March 2008.
Why are tube stations abandoned?
Some stations were closed down because a scarcity of passengers made them uneconomic; some became redundant after lines were re-routed or replacements were built; and others are no longer served by the Underground but remain open to National Rail main line services.
